Ingredients
650gboneless chicken thighs/or breast cut into large chunks
1onionchopped
3clovesof garlicchopped
1tablespoonginger paste
2teaspoonsgaram masala
2teaspoonsground coriander
2teaspoonsground cumin
2teaspoonspaprika
1teaspoonturmeric
1/2teaspoonchilli flakes or cayenne pepperextra if you want it spicy
Add all the ingredients into the slow cooker, except the yoghurt, lemon juice and fresh coriander.
Give it a good stir and then cook on low for 4-5 hours. Or on high for 2-3 hours.
I like my masala sauce to be really smooth, so around an hour before serving I spoon out the chicken with a slotted spoon, then using a stick blender, I blitz the sauce and then add the chicken back in before cooking a little longer and adding the yoghurt and garnishing with chopped coriander. Notes
Note 1: If you don't have a stick blender, you can carefully spoon the curry sauce into a blender or food processor. Note 2: You don’t have to blitz the sauce smooth - you can serve the chicken curry as is without blending and it will still taste delicious.
