Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp lazy ginger or grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp mirin or rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sriracha sauce more if you'd like it spicier
  • 1-2 spring onions chopped for garnish
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • Get a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, honey, mirin, Sriracha sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic powder. Put it to one side, and then get your salmon fillets ready.
  • Brush the teriyaki sauce generously over the salmon fillets using a small brush. I like to do this a few times to make sure all the salmon flesh is covered in the sauce.
  • Spray your air fryer basket with some cooking spray (to stop the salmon fillets from sticking). Then preheat your air fryer to 180°c (375°F).
  • Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, skin side down, giving them enough room to air fry without them touching.
  • Air fry for around 10-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your salmon. I prefer my salmon to be on the medium, medium rare side - so that it's really flaky and melt in your mouth delicious. But if you're unsure, cooking salmon until it has an internal temperature of around 63°c (145°F).
  • During cooking, get your teriyaki marinade and continue to brush more sauce over the salmon fillets. I do this around 2-3 times while the salmon is cooking. Doing this allows the sauce to caramelise slightly for a deeper teriyaki flavour.
  • While the salmon cooks for the last few minutes, heat up the quick homemade sauce in a small saucepan. Keep stirring the sauce as it begins to bubble and caramelise even further. Keep on a low heat, while you serve up your easy air fryer teriyaki salmon.
  • Carefully remove the salmon from the air fryer and serve on plates with jasmine rice and green vegetables.
  • Pour the heated teriyaki sauce over the salmon, then sprinkle with sesame seeds and finely chopped spring onions/green onions. Enjoy.
